Tablet market is getting highly competitive day by day, with latest entries coming every day. Aakash 2 is still expected to hit shores in coming months, but there are the lot of variants already reached the Indian shores. Obviously, Manufacturers making Tablets at sub-5K at their own, and giving hard slap to Datawind’s Aakash Tablet. The latest entry in this segment is done by Kobian, with the launch of Mercury iXA Tab today in Indian market.

The tablet is one of few tablets, which are below 5K, one of them is BSNL Penta Tpad. iXA Tab is made good in terms of specifications and features, as fast as we have checked. It is loaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread Operating System, but we there is not update on ICS update yet. The tablet has a 512MB RAM for smoother performance with it’s 1.0GHz processor.

Specifications of Mercury iXA Tab are enough if user want to enjoy movies, or want to play basic Android Games. Tablet can even play all the movies and videos right from the office, home or even on the go, of various formats such as avi, mp4, mov, 3GP and others. It is also equipped with Wi-Fi support, which ensures that users can connect to Internet from anywhere where Wi-Fi is available. There is a 0.3MP front camera, which allows users to do video chatting. iXA Tab has a in-built 4GB Internal Storage, and can be upgrade to 32GB with the microSD card.

Mercury seems delighted with their mTab range, that’s why they bring new iXA Tab Tablet for students. There are the range of accessories, such as Case with Keyboard would be available soon, which will cover the tablet and can convert it to the Netbook.
