Airtel 4G should be launched as soon as Government sells spectrum. Bharti Airtel has already selected, Nokia Siemens Networks, to roll out their network, with 4G LTE (TD) technology. The TD-LTE is the name of 4G mobile broadband technology, which would provide up to 100 Mbps speed to users, on their USB dongles, or compatible mobile phones. The 4GB network would be developed in 2.3GHz frequency band, which has been allocated by Indian Govenment. Airtel said, 4G Network will provide faster response times (low latency), and faster speed.

Airtel said in a statement we received that, the mobile data traffic would be increased by around 100-fold by 2015, when consumers will access over 600 hours video content on their mobile device. The LTE will bring quick speeds, in association/ conjunction with 3G network. Airtel seems happy, with becoming the first operator to launch 4G Services in India. The company expects that, they will be able to launch 4G Services, at the same time when rest of world will get the services. Nokia Siemens Network will take care of Airtel Network, where they will provide integration of Network, Design, and Optimisation etc. services.

The TD-LTE Network will be developed by Nokia Siemens in other countries, including Russia, Brazil and Saudi Arabia as well. Nokia Siemens will do setup related to 4G Network of Airtel, at the Global Solutions Provider. The Airtel will be not alone to offer 4G Services, point to be noted if you are user of other company, other than Airtel. BSNL will rollout their 4G Services in 20 circles, Aircel 8 Circles, Reliance Infotel 22 circles, Augere 1 circle, MTNL 2 circles, and Tikona in 5 circles. The 3G users also will get benefit, hopefully the rates of 3G Data Plans would come down drastically. The release date aka launch date of Airtel 4G is subject to wait for whole year, until December 2012 or January 2013.

  1. Good but still a long way to go, 3G is not yet available in all parts of the country and the rates are too high. I hope the launch of 4G services will reduce 3G rates.
