Motorola Defy+ Rugged Android Smartphone Launched in India

The rugged and durable, Motorola Defy+ Android Smartphone is finally went on-sale in India. This upgraded version of Motorola Defy was announced in August 2011, and now officially available in India for grabs.

The Motorola Defy Plus runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread Operating system and boasts a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen Gorilla Glass Display with 480×854 pixels resolution and 16M colors. It comes with a 5MP primary camera with LED Flash, that supports video recording at up to 30 fps. The phone runs on 1GHz processor and supports both 2G and 3G Networks. The bad part of this smartphone is that it lack of front camera, so it is not ideal for video calling. Besides, it supports up to 32GB expandable memory allowing users to store huge amount of data.

Motorola Defy+ also features business features along with its average specifications. These features includes Document Viewer, Pushmail, and Accelerometer, Ambiant Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Digital Compass. The phone has 512MB RAM and 2GB internal memory in addition to 32GB memory card support. The connectivity features includes Wifi Hotpot, A-GPS with Google Maps, Bluetooth v2.1 with EDR, 3G (HSDPA and HSPUA). Whereas some important apps like Google YouTube, Instant Messaging also comes pre-installed. Further, the phone comes with Li-Po 1700 mAh battery which is rated to delive up to 6 hours of talk time and 237 hours of standby time on 2G.

If you want to buy Motorola Defy+, You can Purchase at Flipkart for Rs. 17,990 in India. We hope it’ll be launched soon in retail market as well, though its release date not announced yet.

UPDATE 16-11-2011: Motorola India has confirmed in a email we received today morning, that Motorola Defy+ can be purchased in the country now for Best Buy Price of Rs. 17,990 (MRP Rs. 19,490).

UPDATE 06-02-2012: Motorola has slashed Defy+ Android Smartphone Price, and its now retailing for Just Rs. 15,990.
