Silicon Power Launches Diamond D05 External Hard Drive in India

Silicon Power (SP) has just announced the launch of its Diamond D05 external portable hard drive in Indian market. This newly launched portable HDD boasts urban and business style along with elegant looks.

The Silicon Power D05 equipped with USB 3.0 interface that makes it to deliver up to 5GB/ sec transfer rates, whereas it is also backward compatible with USB 2.0 interface and rated to provide up to 480MB/sec speed on USB 2.0 mode. On the USB 3.0 mode, the D05 takes only 70 seconds to transfer entire 25GB Blu-ray DVD and it is capable to store up to 200 full-length DVD movies on its 1TB storage capacity.

Regardless of these specs, the SP Diamond D05 external hard drive packed in a solid case with scratch resistant metallic grain surface body with textured diamond mark that aims to attract urban professionals. The D05 is equipped with LED status indicator that monitors the power supply and activity status. The company stated that this is eco-friendly green product that features hibernation (sleep) mode to save power. This HDD works plug and play and doesn’t required any external power.

The Silicon Power Diamond D05 having dimensions of 124.8x 75.8mm x 13.6mm and weighs 155g/205g (1TB). It supports Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 as well as Linux 2.6.31 or higher, Mac OS X 10.4 or later, but only USB 2.0 mode is supported with Mac. The HDD operates at 5°C – 55°C and the storage temperature is -40°C – 79°C. The D05 comes with SP Widget free download software, that provides over seven back up and security tools. The Norton Antivirus 60 day trial is also offered by the company.

The Silicon Power (SP) Diamond D05 External Hard Drive is now available in 500GB, 640GB, 750GB, and 1TB and priced at Rs. 3999, Rs. 4199, Rs. 4399, Rs. 5599 respectively. All these SP HDDs are backed by 3-year warranty.
