Kingston HyperX SSD, Powered by SandForce Controller Now Available

Kingston Digital has announced that they’re shipping the highly anticipated HyperX SSD, which is the first SATA Rev. 3.0 6Gb/s solid state drive from the company.

The Kingston HyperX SSD is equipped with latest SandForce controller and specifically designed for hard-core users such as gamers, enthusiasts and performance users. The solid state drive will be available in 120GB and 240GB storage capacities. The SSD will be shipped in standalone and bundle. The Standalone SSD version includes Kingston HyperX branded 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch mounting plate, whereas the Kingston HyperX Updgrade kit for easy installation will be shipped with Acronis True Image HD migration software, desktop mounting plate, external drive bay, multi-head screwdriver, and a SATA data cable.

The Kingston HyperX SSD is rated to deliver 550 MB/sec read speeds and up to 510 MB/sec write speeds, Thanks to the SandForce SF-2281 controller with SATA Rev 3.0 (6GB/s) and Premium Intel 25nm Compute NAND (P/E 5K). Whereas, the SSD features maximum of 4KB random read and write of 95,000 / 70,000 IOPS (120GB).
