Motorola Milestone XT800 – India’s First Dual SIM Android Smartphone Launched

Motorola Mobility India has today announced the launch of its new smartphone, Milestone XT800 in Indian market, which is renamed version of Motorola Glam (XT800). It is Country’s first Dual SIM (GSM+CDMA) phone and it runs on Google Android OS.

Motorola XT800 is equipped with equipped with 3.7-inch capacitive FWVGA touch display with 480×854 pixels resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio, 5-megapixel autofocus camera which records 720p HD videos and comes with HDMI port for connecting it to HDTV to watch vidoes on a big screen. The phone supports expandable memory up to 32GB using microSDHC card. Motorola Milestone XT800 comes with Google Android 2.1 Operating System and there is no information on Google Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade right now.

Motorola XT800 is powered by 550MHz Texas Instruments OMAP3430 processor and boasts 256MB RAM on board along with 512MB ROM. Connectivity options includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G, EDGE and GPRS. The phone has also built-in GPS satellite navigation using Google Maps for finding Location based services. The phone also enables users to view and edit documents in popular formats including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and Zip. Other features includes e-Compass1, supports H.263,  H.264,  MPEG4 music formats and AAC, ACC+, MP3, CMX, AMR NB, AMR WB, MIDI, WAV and WMA 9.

Motorola XT800 is priced at Rs. 31,999 and will be exclusively distributed by AirTyme Communications in India at a MRP of Rs 31,999. It comes with an HDMI cable for TV output and a 2GB micro SD card in-box. However, Motorola had launched same XT800 in China Last year, and the upgraded model of this handset was launched one month ago in China by the name of XT800+ (XT800 Plus). It seems that Motorola is just selling its old stock to Indian consumers at a high price tag.
